Hilton celebrated the opening of the Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island in mid-February 2021.
Earlier in February 2020, Hilton welcomed a new addition to its properties — a leisure resort in Abu Dhabi.
The Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island opened its doors on Yas Bay’s Waterfront, on the island’s southern end. Situated on this waterfront mixed-use development, the Hilton property is near the island’s retail, food and beverage outlets and entertainment and nightlife experiences.
The Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island also is linked to a master development plan for Yas Bay. Overseen by Miral Property management company, this plan is shaping this island spot into a major leisure, business and activity hub.
“We are proud to be working with visionary owners in Miral, in forming part of the exciting growth of a multi-purpose entertainment destination,” said Jochem-Jan Sleiffer, president, Hilton, Middle East, Africa & Turkey, in a media release. “Together, we are bringing a unique offering to the market with cutting edge technological features designed to enhance guest experience and promote sustainability.”
The 545-guestroom hotel features 59 suites, signature dining and cafés, a Kid’s Club, a beach club, a temperature-controlled outdoor pool, a spa and fitness center and a multi-purpose conference center. The facilities include two ballrooms and 12 multi-functional spaces.
The new Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island is located within Yas Bay’s Waterfront.
As part of their stay, the hotel’s guests will receive complimentary access to Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi and Warner Bros. World.
In terms of dining, the resort offers a host of restaurant concepts that can range from, a daytime brunch to evening dinner.
A casual dining concept, Graphos Social Kitchen will serve homely classic dishes and has many open kitchens, with views of the shimmering pool. Then, the Capila – Pool Bar & Grill will offer guests poolside with chilled drinks and light bites. A stylish café with a view, OSMO – Lounge & Bar prepares what’s described as fresh morning delights, afternoon teas and experimental cocktails.
The Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island has been designed to also comply with Hilton’s Travel with Purpose 2030 Goals. Launched in May 2018, the corporate strategy measure institutes science-based carbon reduction targets approved by the Science Based Targets initiative toward cutting its environmental footprint in half by 2030.
“The resort encompasses everything that a modern-day guest looks for whilst also ensuring robust environmental practices in support of Hilton’s 2030 Travel with Purpose goals,” said Mathew Mullan, the hotel’s cluster general manager, also in a press statement.
To reduce energy consumption, lighting at this Hilton property will be programmed to automatically adjusted according to the time of day.
Reduction in water usage will involve implementing taps with fitted aerators and special shower heads which limit water flow without affecting water pressure. Smart systems have also been implemented to control hotel waste management while solar panels are used to power a domestic hot water system.
Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island is said to be the first of three new Hilton properties, developed by Miral, to open on Yas Island. Upcoming plans will include the opening of DoubleTree by Hilton – Yas Island Residences and the WB™ Abu Dhabi, the world’s first Warner Bros. branded hotel and to be part of Curio Collection by Hilton.
