You can watch Raya and the Last Dragon starting March 5 with Disney+ Premier Access.

In order to defeat an evil invading her homeland, a young girl must find and enlist the aid of the last living dragon. That’s the premise of Raya And The Last Dragon, the latest animated film to hit Disney+. Featuring the voices of Kelly Marie Tran and Awkwafina as the titular Raya and last dragon, the supporting cast includes Daniel Dae Kim, Sandra Oh and Alan Tudyk. Your kids probably won’t care about the actors, though; they just want to see Raya’s personal journey and how she partners with that blue dragon.

The eagerly awaited movie hits theaters on March 5, but that doesn’t help millions of people who are still living amid a pandemic—so Disney is making it available for streaming online at the exact same time. You won’t find it amid all the other content on Disney+, though. To see the movie at home while it’s showing in theaters, you’ll need to unlock Raya and the Last Dragon with Disney+ Premier Access.

Raya And The Last Dragon will be available on Disney+ Premier Access starting March 5, though you can also order the movie early. To get Premier Access, you need to already have a subscription to Disney+, which you can get directly from Disney for $7 per month or $70 per year.

There’s also a promotion at Disney+ right now that allows you to get Hulu, Disney+ and ESPN+ for $8 per month or $80 per year—a sizable discount compared to getting it all separately—but you don’t have to subscribe to the entire bundle. If all you want is Disney+, just look for the link that says “Sign up for Disney+ only.”

Once you have a Disney+ subscription, to get Raya And The Last Dragon, just go to Disney+ on the web, in an app or on your TV (wherever you have access to Disney+) and search for Raya, or click the link below.

Before March 5, click “Order Early” and the movie will be ready and waiting for you. On or after March 5, you can start watching the movie as soon as you buy your Premier Access. Remember, that’s a $30 privilege on top of your Disney+ subscription.

Disney+ Premier Access is a new streaming option that Disney debuted with the release of Mulan last year. It’s a one-time charge to get early access to a movie before it’s available for streaming on Disney+.

Think of it this way: To see a movie before it arrives on a streaming service, you’d traditionally need to go to the theater to see it. Disney+ Premier Access is like buying that movie theater ticket, but you get to watch the movie at home.

Currently Disney+ Premier Access costs $30 in addition to your Disney+ subscription, which is a prerequisite. That might seem a little pricey to critics of Disney’s new purchase option, but it’s probably less expensive than taking a family of three or four to the movie theater. And once you pay, you can watch the movie as many times as you like (unlike going to the theater, where you’d only get to see a film once) as long as you have a Disney+ subscription.

Of course, you don’t need to pay for Disney+ Premier Access in order to see Raya and the Last Dragon. But if you don’t, you’ll need to wait until June 4 when the movie arrives on Disney+ for ordinary streaming.
